Why do I need to be up to date on health and environmental information?
To save your life, prevent disease, prevent nutritional deficiencies that affect the organs in your body, to avoid pain, and to prevent losing physical and mental functions. Also, to prevent substantial medical bills for you and your family, to prevent having to submit and deal with reimbursement of medical bills, to prevent having to take off from work, to prevent losing time with your loved ones. No one should wait until they have a health challenge to take health seriously. The time to learn about prevention is while you are healthy. The best way to deal with a disease is to prevent it. One of the doctors from the conference claims that with the right diet and lifestyle, you can be heart attack proof. Does he explain this?
The doctor's name is Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D, he is the author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. He fully backs up his claim with two compelling studies that he conducted, oversaw, and followed up with all the patients. 
As you can guess, that put us on a new mission. 
Another author from the conference conducted the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease. Did he find anything important? 
The author's name is T. Colin Campbell. He conducted a study and then later wrote a book about it called The China Study, which The New York Times said The study can be considered the Grand Prix of epidemiology. He found that eating a lot of protein, especially animal protein, is also linked to chronic disease.
Another three authors claim we need to be aware of the relationship between cell phone radiation and health issues as well as the future risks from 5G wireless. What proof do they have? I have previously read that there was no risk from cell phones or 5G.
The authors who spoke about this were Devra Davis, Theodora Scordato, and Danial De Baun. They all cited detailed scientific papers showing the relationship. You need to see for yourself the evidence and studies that they have. Devra served as the President Clinton appointee to the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board from 1994 to 1999. She has also authored more than 190 publications in books and journals ranging from The Lancet and the Journal of the American Medical Association to Scientific American and The New York Times. You must hear what she is saying about these topics instead of just listening to the media repeat what the telecom issue has told them.
I understand that Walter Willett, M.D., known as the world’s most-cited nutrition researcher, says that our diet is having an impact on climate change. Why does he say this?
Yes, Dr. Willett Willett, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, who co-authored the EAT-Lancet Commission on healthy diets from sustainable food systems said that he is working with colleagues in the earth sciences to understand further the ways that dietary choices can affect greenhouse gas production and climate change. It is critical to your future health, business decisions, investing decisions, job selection, and understanding of the future to learn precisely what he means when he explains how certain foods are dramatically increasing climate change.

Many of the doctors and authors said that obesity and type 2 diabetes were lifestyle diseases that could be prevented and reversed. Is this based on their opinion or solid science?
Solid science, these authors have worked with real people for many years to accurately measure what does and doesn’t prevent obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Why do I need to get health information from The Real Truth About Health? I can just get it directly from companies in the industry. Right?
A lot of companies don’t want your shopping habits to change. They can’t afford for your shopping habits to change. Therefore they don’t want you to change your beliefs about health because that might cause you to alter your buying behaviors. They want you to keep doing, thinking, shopping and spending the way you always have, even if that means keeping you misinformed or confused. The fossil fuel industry doesn’t want you to switch to solar and wind energy. The sugar industry doesn’t want you to stop eating sugar. The pesticide industry doesn’t want you to stop applying weed killer to your lawn. The wireless phone industry doesn’t want you to be concerned about cell phone radiation. Industries spend a lot of time trying to convince you that their products have way more positives than negatives. They say whatever they need to say to convince everyone to keep buying their products even if it means your health or your planet's health will be hurt. 

I already know that? What is your point?
Our point is that although many people know this, they don’t fully accept how intense the attempt is to keep you brainwashed, confused, and uninformed. Companies and industries want to make money, and they do not want you to stop buying their products. They spend all their time and money to try and convince you that the science, the studies, the clinical trials, the experts, the collective knowledge, is that you should buy their products and that their products have way more benefits than risks. They don’t love you, and they don’t care about the long term effects their products have on you, your children and the planet. They care more about profits than whether their product causes a disease. If their product has anything to do with the 50% decrease in sperm counts that we have had over the last 50 years, they don’t want you to know. If their product is dramatically increasing climate change, they don’t want you to know. If their product is causing or increasing the chance of you getting Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or dementia, they don’t want you to know. 

I hear the mainstream media and big industries criticize anyone that doesn’t agree with them. They call them quacks, charlatans, snake oil salespeople, and scam artists. They claim the information on the internet is not trustworthy. They tell you that you are irresponsible, dumb, and gullible if you listen to anyone but them. Is this true?
Industries sometimes call potential competition to their industry quacks when in some cases, the people they are calling charlatans have valuable information that could save lives. They often call them quacks to discredit them because the new product or industry threatens them.  

I don’t listen to companies. I only listen to the scientific community, the medical industry, the universities, and the clinical trials, so I feel confident that I have good information.
You are mistaken to assume these sources have accurate information. The medical industry knows how much you like and trust your doctor, so they spend billions of dollars trying to influence the design and outcome of the clinical trials that your doctor reads. They also try to control which articles appear in the medical journals that your doctor reads. 

How could the smart, honest people I trust be tricked into believing misinformation from big industries?
Many ways. Companies that don’t want you to know the actual effects of their products do everything they can to confuse, misrepresent, distort, trick, and fool the people you trust. That is why when a study or clinical trial comes out saying a product is safe or suitable for you; you need to know who paid for the study. Also, who was involved in the study, who designed the study, who monitored the study, who interpreted the study results, who reported on the study results, what the study was compared to, etc. The average news reporter isn’t scientific or devoted enough to fully understand if the research they are reporting on was done correctly and for the benefit of humanity. Most reporters don’t have months of time and proper access to critical information to properly investigate and understand the studies that industries report on. The great myth is that science is independently funded and not influenced by industry. This is why scientific studies and clinical trials(Read Ben Goldacre’s book “Bad Pharma”) are so questionable because unbiased, unaffiliated sources are not doing them.

I understand that I am not getting accurate health and environmental information from big companies, but why do I need to get information from The Real Truth About Health membership club? Why can't I just get health and environmental data from the newspaper, Tv news, or my favorite website?
The primary source of revenue for the media is advertising. They don’t want to do investigative reporting that might reflect poorly on their advertisers. They avoid doing negative stories about the companies that are the primary source of their revenue. Even when they do a negative story, they don’t keep following up on the issue. 

I am not sure I fully accept this. There are many honest journalists.
Yes, there are, but they don’t necessarily have the approval from their management to go after stories that might expose big companies(their advertisers) and their products.

During the presidential debates, didn’t the journalists ask tough questions?
They did, but they also left out many topics that would offend the advertisers of their network. No one asked about GMOs, the overuse of pesticides, about why sperm counts are down 50% in the last 50 years, why childhood diseases have skyrocketed, why the control of our seeds is in the hands of just a few companies, about the dangers of wireless radiation and 5G. No one questioned any part of the food, medical, chemical, telecom, biotech, or chemical industries. Over and over, they asked other questions and avoided the exact topics that could make their advertisers look bad. 

Even if the media and journalists don’t hold big industries accountable for providing the public with factual information on the benefits and risks of their products, don’t government agencies do that?
No. The most critical agencies like the EPA (environmental protection agency), the FDA(Food and drug administration), the USDA(United States Department of Agriculture), the FCC(Federal Communications Commission) and most others are often run by someone formerly from or loyal to the industry they are supposed to be protecting the public from. The head of these government agencies is appointed by politicians who often take campaign contributions from these industries during their election campaigns. Then after the election, the newly elected senator or congressman or president selects an industry-friendly person to run the government agency. That person makes industry-friendly policies, even if they are bad for your health or the planet. These agencies continue to provide inaccurate, non-scientific, biased information to protect the industry they are from. The media then quotes the policies and information from these agencies, and now the whole country is operating with wrong, inaccurate, dangerous pro-industry information. This means the media, the politicians, the universities, the governors, the scientific community, the medical industry is all giving out inaccurate information that they were told came from an unbiased government agency. The problem is the source of information that everyone is using is not accurate. So even the experts have inaccurate information. The public has no chance and is bombarded with the wrong information about what is safe, healthy, and scientific. The public believes all the confident, smart, hard-working people sharing this information but doesn’t realize that in many cases the information started from a government agency that probably is biased in favor of protecting the industry even if that means harming your health or the planet.
Can you give me an example of this?
The most powerful agency overseeing the health of the environment is the Environmental Protection Agency. The current head of that agency is Andrew Wheeler, a former coal lobbyist with Close ties to the coal industry. Before Trump nominated him to become deputy EPA administrator last fall, Wheeler was a lobbyist at Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting, where his best-paying client was the coal mining company Murray Energy. The company paid Wheeler’s firm at least $300,000 each year between 2009 and 2017, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Murray Energy’s CEO, Robert Murray, has been a loyal supporter of Trump. After giving $300,000 to the President’s inauguration fund, the New York Times reported that Murray gave Trump a wish list of environmental regulations he wanted rolled back. The President instructed Pruitt to get to work on the list.
Wheeler also had a number of other high-profile clients in the energy sector, according to the Washington Post. Many of these companies have an interest in the regulations Wheeler will now make decisions about as acting head of the EPA.
Wheeler worked for Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe
During his time as a congressional staffer, Wheeler worked as a senior aide to Republican Sen. James Inhofe, one of Washington’s most prominent climate change denialists, according to the Post. Inhofe expressed his support for his former staffer, calling Wheeler “the perfect choice” to serve as acting EPA administrator.
I realize the media and government agencies have biased information, which is why I get all my medical advice from a medical doctor, pharmacist, or the pharmaceutical industry. Doesn’t that guarantee I get the truth?
No, the doctors, nurses, medical advisors, and public policy experts are making recommendations based on the results of clinical trials. The problem with this is that there are ways to set up clinical trials to make them look more favorable to a particular drug or medical procedure then they are. Making a statement about a treatment based on the results of clinical trials is risky since many clinical trials only show the good results from the trials and leave out the bad results. Also, clinical trials are sometimes done for very short periods of time. We don’t know the long term effects of a pharmaceutical drug or medical procedure when a clinical trial lasts only a few months. Despite the lack of useful long term information on the effectiveness and safety of prescription drugs and medical procedures, they are widely recommended to the public with assurances from the pharmaceutical industry that they work well and are safe to use. Just like other industries that sell products, the medical industry is very focused on selling products. Medicine is a product that makes a lot of money for a lot of people, just like breakfast cereal, candy, beer, canned soup, office supplies, tires, or any other consumer products. Just like these other industries, some shareholders want to increase sales and profits regardless of what impact it has on your long term health. You don’t want to get your nutrition information from the shareholders of the fast food, soda, snack food, or breakfast cereal industry. You don’t want to get your medical knowledge from the shareholders of Pharmaceutical companies. In all these cases, the shareholders push the board of directors to push the CEO to push his employees to optimize profits above accurate health information that might cause sales to decrease. In all cases, the goal of the company is to convince the public to buy more of whatever they are selling, regardless of the long term implications of the product.
But my doctor is fantastic, smart and up on the latest trends. Isn’t he an expert?
Yes, he is fantastic, smart, honest, hard-working, and up on the latest trends. However, if he is reading medical journals that are pro-industry regarding clinical trials, then he doesn’t know the long term side effects from the prescription drugs studies in these clinical trials. Maybe he has his own opinion from doing this for a long time, but when someone gets sick, it's hard to know if the cause of their illness was influenced by foods or drugs that you took 15 years ago. In other words, the constant assurances from the medical industry that their products work well and don’t have long term side effects are often inaccurate since the clinical trials were not done long term, so there is no way for the doctor to say the prescription drugs are safe long term confidently. That is why large, long term, unbiased tests, and trials would be so valuable. Yet, they are intentionally not done because no company wants to learn bad things about their products.
I am sure my doctor has the lastest, greatest information on health and wellness; after all, he is a medical doctor.
Unfortunately, medical schools don’t do a good, thorough or in-depth job of teaching doctors about nutrition, nutritional supplementation with vitamins and minerals, exercise, herbal medicine, alternative medicine, fasting, saunas, grounding, traditional Chinese medicine, emotional health, and every other non-mainstream approach to health. Shouldn’t your health advisor know all the best, most effective approaches to health? Why do they only know about western medicine, which favors drugs and surgery but not diet and lifestyle? The reason your doctors are not taught these other things is that they are not a profitable business for the medical industry. The medical industry says these other things don’t work. Still, there is a significant amount of documented science showing diet, lifestyle, and different holistic approaches to health work well for many health issues for far less money and with far fewer side effects. The medical industry doesn’t want you to consider anything except what they sell. This is not in your best interest.
Hasn’t it been proven that modern medicine has extended lives and saved millions?
The United States pays and uses the most modern medicine. Our life expectancy among countries ranks about 43rd, which is not good considering how much less medicine many of the countries with higher life expectancy than us use. Something about our food system, medical system and high chemical toxic lifestyle is not working if we are 43rd yet spend twice as much as the next closest country on healthcare. Our food plays a role as well, but the main point is that something is causing us to have worse health than 42 other countries who all spend far less on health than we do. 
I get my information from university studies. Isn’t that good?
Sometimes, but if the university is receiving money from industry, then they often produce very biased information that doesn’t reflect your best interests. The public is not getting accurate information when government agencies, politicians, and the media quote a biased university study.
If the big industries, government agencies, media, universities, clinical trials, and scientific community are influencing the information I am getting on health and the environment, where do I get accurate information on how to stay healthy in the short and long term?
You need to find a source of information that doesn’t make money from a source that they then promote. If someone says the best product for health is vitamin D, and then they sell vitamin D, then their credibility is in question. It doesn’t mean vitamin D isn’t good just because they promote and sell it. However, the overall consensus is that people and companies don’t like to criticize their products. Also, since companies need to make money, they often oversell the benefits and downplay the negatives of the products they sell. Therefore it is critical not to get seduced by confident, good looking, well-credentialed salespeople even if they claim they are not salespeople. You need to find sources of information that are looking out only for you and not for the product they are selling or the company that is paying them.
Why is The Real Truth About Health different?
As long as we continue not to sell products, we can remain unbiased. The fact that we sell nothing allows us to just offer you impartial information to the best of our ability.
Isn’t it a conflict that you have some advertisers?
Yes, If we promote our advertisers, that is a conflict. We are trying our best to give you pure unbiased life-saving information. To the degree that we take advertisers, there is potential for conflict. While we are trying not to let advertisers bias our data, we believe our credibility is highest if we had no advertisers. At this time, to cover costs, we still have advertisers and acknowledge that it does compromise our credibility. We still believe that we are providing you the best information, but we hope to get to the point when we can be completely advertiser free. 
So, who should I listen to when it comes to health and the environment?
You shouldn’t underestimate how biased most sources are. You need to find sources that have no financial incentive to distort the information. The ideal person would be your mom or dad if they had expertise in health and the environment. You need sources that are on your side and only looking after your best interests. 
So it's the big industries that are at fault in providing misinformation, unhealthy products, environmental damage, and resource depletion?
Misinformation is the result of companies wanting to prevent you from getting accurate information that might cause you to stop buying their products. However, industries are not the only culprit. Remember, companies are just a bunch of employees who report to the chief operating officer who reports to a chief executive officer who reports to a board of directors who try to satisfy the investment community, which consists of funds from peoples IRA’s, 401k’s and other investments. As long as the public cares about investment returns more than how a company treats people’s health and the planet, we will keep having companies trying to make money at any cost, including the survival of the earth and our health.
Why do I need to join the membership club? I already know how to be healthy?
It’s more than just knowing information; if you are still doing the thing that is bad for your health, then there is a good chance that you don’t fully understand how much and how fast you are negatively affected by the bad habit. Many people don’t recognize the time frame of when their unhealthy lifestyle habits will impact them. People have been brainwashed by a lifetime of commercials, convincing you that unhealthy habits aren’t that big a deal. It’s the goal of the big industries to convince you that their products aren’t harmful to you as long as they are used in moderation.
I’m sure everything will be fine, someone else will take care of me or fix me if I get sick?
Unfortunately, this is not true. Your best chance for a long healthy life is to maintain your health. Waiting to get sick and then thinking that there are lots of great cures is not accurate. Getting sick is painful, expensive, time-consuming, interferes with your life, interfering with friends and family, and prevents you from working and living your healthy life. The only rational solution is to stay healthy and prevent disease. This might be your goal, but it is in direct conflict with the goals of corporate America, which want to sell you more of what they are selling. You being truly informed is interfering with their purpose of selling more of their food, medicine, chemical, GMO, or other products. They need you to stay uninformed, confused, and loyal to them, to keep their sales up. 
What impact can I possibly have? Why should I gather accurate information on health and the environment?
You can change the world. If you take your new information and tell one person a day the truth, then at the end of one year, 365 people will know the truth. If each of those people tells one person a day, then at the end of year two, the 365 people will have told 365 people. Now 133,225 will know. If each of those people tells one person a day, then 48,627,125 people will know at the end of year three. If each of them tells one person a day, then at the end of year 4, seventeen billion people will know. Since there are only 8 billion people on the planet, everyone will see this information in just a few years or less.
What's the rush? I’m very busy and don’t have time to change my lifestyle. Why should I change when I like my life the way it is?
You can do whatever you want, but there are consequences to your choices. No one is making you stop smoking. You can smoke as much as you want, but you should know the truth about exactly what the health impacts are from long term smoking. Again, before making decisions that could be life or death decisions, get all the accurate information, not the data that companies want you to have. You must hear the truth about what impacts your health. You also want to know what is happening to our planet, our food system, our oceans, our soil, our biodiversity, our wildlife, our insects, our freshwater supply, and more. However, how are you going to get this information when the media and politicians and the scientific community are financially influenced to keep you misinformed. If you were informed, you might take action, change habits, vote differently, think differently, act differently. Big industries want you to keep buying their products and not help you learn the truth. They also don’t want you to realize how urgent some of these issues are. If they can convince you that everything will be fine for another 25 years, then most people won’t take action. The problem is some of these issues need to be addressed now not in 25 years.
A lot of rich, smart, famous, good looking, well-credentialed people seem to be doing just fine, and they aren’t focused on a healthy diet and lifestyle, why should I?
The statistics are staggering and getting worse. While a small percentage of smokers might do okay, in the long run, most do poorly. This is the same for poor diet and lifestyle. There might be a 106-year-old with bad habits, but for the most part, a healthy lifestyle provides much more high-quality pain-free years to your life. Don’t be fooled into thinking otherwise. Learn now what to do to maintain your health, and learn it from people who have no plan to mislead you or sell you something.
Don’t you believe in everything in moderation?
Not when it comes to things that are mathematically and scientifically proven to shorten your life and make your remaining years less healthy and more problematic. There is no place for moderation when it comes to proven health destroyers. There is no need for moderation when it comes to tobacco, heroin, cocaine, drunk driving, and other hazardous habits. People who say everything in moderation want you to buy their dangerous products and are often trying to manipulate you with language to shame and guilt and persuade you. There is no such thing as moderation with dangerous or life-threatening habits and foods. If there were, we wouldn’t have an adult population with nearly 40% obesity and a third with Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes.

How climate change effects extreme weather around the world
Scientists have published more than 230 peer-reviewed studies looking at weather events around the world, from Hurricane Katrina to Russia’s 2010 heatwave. The result is mounting evidence that human activity is raising the risk of some types of extreme weather, especially those linked to heat.
